Meet Dr. Billie Adams
Originally from Belen, New Mexico, Dr. Billie Adams earned her BS in Biology at the University of New Mexico and her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Creighton University School of Dentistry. She welcomes patients of all ages at her Albuquerque practice, with an emphasis on comprehensive care, prevention, and early intervention.
Her continuing education includes the Tufts University Pediatric Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency and training in functional frenuloplasty, orofacial myofunctional therapy, TMJ disorders, growth guidance, laser therapies, and TAD-assisted expansion in adults.

Meet Our Team
When she's not in the office, you'll likely find Laura in the backyard playing frisbee with her pups, Onyx and Dakota (aka Koda). Her favorite color is green, and she has a serious sweet tooth for Heath Bars and Butterfingers. Laura is a proud grandma to two beautiful granddaughters, 4-year-old Madeline, who helped Mommy take Laura's picture on the beach in Hawaii, and her newest grandbaby, Ainslie Clare, who lives in bitter-cold Green Bay, Wisconsin. Yes? she's a proud cheesehead!
She is happily married to a soccer goalkeeper coach, but she prefers to cheer from afar, as soccer isn't her game.
A true coffee lover (no tea here!), Laura has been with Dr. Adams for 14 years this year and has worked in the dental industry since 1989. Over the years, she has developed a true love for dentistry, and caring for patients has become a meaningful part of her life. She considers her patients part of her extended family and is always happy to help with a warm smile.
I’m excited to be part of the Peak Family Dentistry team and to have the opportunity to help our patients feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. I believe every patient deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and personalized attention. I’m passionate about creating a positive experience for our patients and helping make every visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible. I enjoy building relationships with patients and being part of a team that is committed to providing exceptional dental care.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, reading, hiking, fishing, and being involved in my community.
I truly enjoy my job as an Administrative Assistant with Peak Family Dentistry. I love getting to know our patients and helping create a warm, welcoming experience from the very start of their visit.
Outside of work, my husband and I love spending time together fishing, camping, and going to concerts, especially classic rock shows. I'm passionate about all things food and enjoy baking, cooking, and grilling whenever I can. At home, our two dogs, Mia and Archie, are our pride and joy and make life even sweeter.
Born in the beautiful Four Corners area of New Mexico and raised in Albuquerque, I've always had a strong connection to this place I call home.
Fun fact: my passion for oral hygiene didn't start with people, it started with pets! As a Registered Veterinary Technician for 12 years, I performed hundreds of dental cleanings on dogs and cats. Somewhere along the way, I realized I truly loved the process of caring for teeth, which inspired me to take the leap and become a Registered Dental Hygienist.
When I'm not working, you can usually find me out on a long run, getting lost in a great fiction novel, or spending quality time with my family. I'm also a proud pet mom to my cats, Leo, Ponce, and Zeke, who are very spoiled and absolutely run the house, along with my newest addition, Aubrey, my dog, who has quickly become part of the crew.
I love unwinding with a good sci-fi, fantasy, or suspense binge, and I'm always up for a fishing or camping trip. And if there's a big boxing match, basketball game, or football game on, you'll find me cozied up on the couch with family or friends, good food in hand, and fully locked in.
Merel is one of our wonderful Dental Hygienists and has been part of our team since April 2025. She loves seeing healthy smiles and the results patients achieve from their treatment. Her passion for dentistry started from her own childhood experiences, which inspired her to work in healthcare.
Her favorite part of the day is getting to know all of our amazing patients. A fun fact about Merel, she's Dutch! She also enjoys being a little goofy and having fun while keeping everyone smiling.
Outside the office, Merel loves spending time with her horses, hiking, listening to music, and relaxing with her dogs and husband. She also enjoys a good cup of coffee or tea.
Merel's smile tip: Eat healthy, exercise, and use an electric toothbrush!

Ernestine is one of Dr. Adams' dental assistants, and she loves helping patients leave with a healthy, confident smile. She's been part of the Peak Family Dentistry team for 3 months and was inspired to work in healthcare because she wanted to help people, though she didn't realize it would be through helping maintain healthy smiles!
At the end of a successful day, she feels proud and accomplished, knowing she has guided each patient through their visit with care. Some patients might be surprised to learn she isn't as young as she looks, and that she is a proud mom of two sons.
When she's not at the office, Ernestine enjoys hiking, taking trips, and watching movies. She prefers herbal teas, and the best way she relaxes after work is with a long, refreshing shower.
She loves being part of Peak Family Dentistry because of the team's fun personalities and energy, it's a workplace full of life! Fun fact: she can't stand socks.
